SROM Training

SROM's training is one of the most intense and comprehensive in the outdoor industry. We cover rock climbing from the basics to building anchors to leading and placing protection. We cover both sport and traditional climbing skills. You will also learn snow travel, snow ascent, safety, roped snow travel and anchors. Since the course is spent in the back country, camping, mad cooking skills, basic hiking and navigation are also covered.

To develop your soft skills you will have the opportunity to be the facilitator of the day, to both teach and learn with others on the course. Our teaching methods seek to help you be more accurate, precise and efficient in the art of teaching.

Finally, and fundamentally, instructor training is a time of intense discipleship. We are unafraid of the hard issues and the hard questions. Daily devotional time (both group and personal) and evenings are spent exploring the Father-heart of God, learning about radical intimacy with Him, and becoming established in your identity in Christ. SROM is Bible-based and non-denominational. We hold to the following: In essentials, unity. In non-essentials, liberty. In all things, love. The character of God is unchanging and universal; how we experience and live life in light of that character are not.
