SROM is an amazing and growing ministry. Our heart’s desire/our desire is for each student to encounter Jesus and walk away renewed, transformed, and with a greater knowledge of the Father because of this encounter. We believe in excellence to serve individuals in the outdoor classroom. As a Christian wilderness leadership school, we strive to train individuals in servant leadership.
Our full season ranges from March to October, although it is common for us to employ individuals still taking college courses. It takes dedication and commitment to be a SROM instructor. We are a life-changing ministry, actively advancing the Kingdom.
SROM instructors are talented and inspiring people who both teach and minister to each student. We carefully consider your skill level, physical abilities, leadership capabilities, and what you will gain from the experience. Along with prayer, we recommend that you consult those close to you for guidance, including family, friends, and a pastor. It is important that you consider this commitment seriously. Our staff is the backbone of SROM. Many youth pastors come back year after year because of the quality and love of the SROM staff. The relationships between our staff and others are the basis of our reputation. Consequently, SROM is always looking for individuals dedicated to Christ's Kingdom, enthusiastic about youth and young adults, and willing to grow in servant leadership.
Working for SROM means hard work and long days, especially in the field. Days off do not occur regularly. Without a disciplined prayer life and a commitment to personal quiet times, it is possible to feel burdened by ministry. Ministry requires individuals with a special kind of mature Christian walk and the desire to serve under all sorts of conditions. Those chosen to serve with SROM will learn many things and share many awesome experiences with other staff. We ask and expect much from our instructors, but we believe the rewards are worth it. SROM invests a great deal of time and effort into training, developing, and mentoring our instructors. Consequently, we ask all instructor and instructor interns to make a two summer commitment. We have found that instructors who come back for a second summer have much more to offer students, the program and new staff members.

Dedication and commitment are essential for a SROM instructor. This may be the most demanding job you have ever had. The result is an incredible experience where your life is touched and changed as much as those to whom you are ministering.
Summer Course Manager Internship learn more
SROM is looking for a motivated and responsible individual to manage summer trip logistics. This management position will put you in contact with every individual who passes through SROM during the summer season. You will also have the opportunity to minister to instructors, pouring into them at headquarters as they pour into the students in the field. The privilege and responsibility of this position will give you skills, confidence, and first hand knowledge of working for a dynamic ministry. (Please note this is not a field position.)
