Course Manager

SROM is looking for a motivated and responsible individual to manage our summer trips.

Purpose

The purpose of this position is to assist current administrative staff with the increased duties of the busy summer season. It is a management position, not a field position.

Experience & Skills Recommended

  • Organizational skills; detail oriented
  • Previous managerial experience
  • A knowledge of rock climbing, backpacking, and mountaineering equipment
  • Experience in outdoor wilderness adventure programming
  • Leadership skills
  • Communication skills
  • Be self motivated; self directed

  • Motivated by accomplishing tasks and goals
  • Must have office skills and be familiar with Word, Excel, Outlook

Job Description

  • Help represent SROM to the youth workers and students who participate on trips
  • Supervise trips going out and coming in; help instructors where needed
  • Supervise instructor managers; fill in where needed
  • Assist in and facilitate communication between instructors and administration
  • Be in charge of equipment area, including equipment needs, re-supply, and cleanliness
  • Be in charge of repairs, including shipping, repairing items, and organizing sewing

Time Commitment

  • Approximately May 14th through August 20th
  • Hours dependent upon course schedule, approximately 40/wk
  • Includes 3 Week Instructor Training at no cost to individual. This is invaluable training and equipping in regard to both technical outdoor skills and leadership/discipleship skills. SROM texts may be purchased for $75.
