Who is SROM?
SROM (Solid Rock Outdoor Ministries) is a premier Christ-centered wilderness ministry and outdoor education organization. SROM provides wilderness courses for individuals, groups, organizations, and ministries. SROM will customize an experience that is tailored to the needs, time frame, desired outcomes, and specific activities of interest for each course. SROM courses specialize in providing a wilderness ministry experience that facilitates spiritual formation, leadership development, authentic community, character formation, and teaches wilderness skills. A wilderness ministry course can be a life changing experience that edifies, equips, and transforms participants.
The Bible repeatedly reveals that individuals, families, and entire nations were transformed during time spent in a literal wilderness. Wilderness contexts are environments designed by God to be places of divine-human encounter that provide catalytic gateway experiences for personal spiritual, emotional, and physical growth.
SROM has been providing industry-leading wilderness adventure experiences for youth and young adults for over 28 years. SROM is headquartered in Laramie, Wyoming and has served churches, parachurch organizations, schools, and institutions of higher education throughout the country. We are committed to excellence in all that we do. SROM has a proven track record of providing high-quality wilderness adventure experiences that are responsive and adaptable to the needs and desired outcomes of our partners and those we serve.
SROM is the only wilderness ministry accredited by the Association for Experiential Education (AEE). We provide both custom and open enrollment courses ranging in length from 1 to 40 days in locations throughout the Rocky Mountains. SROM provides all needed outdoor equipment, clothing, food, permits, and ground transportation. SROM also makes partial scholarships available to those in need. SROM is a nonprofit ministry (501(c)3 organization). SROM’s own fundraising helps offset the cost of our courses.
Solid Rock Outdoor Ministries operates under permits from
Rocky Mountain, Grand Canyon, and Yosemite National Parks;
and Medicine Bow/Routt and Bridger-Teton National Forests.
